Mumbai: After recent reports claimed that Kiara Advani was uncomfortable with a romantic scene she filmed with Yash for Geetu Mohandas’ ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown Ups’ and had asked the makers to tone it down, the actress dismissed these as baseless.
An Instagram post by KoiMoi read, “Kiara Advani requests makers to tone down bold scenes with Yash in Toxic.”
Re-sharing the post on her Instagram Stories, the actress refuted the buzz, writing, “Absolute nonsense!”

‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ is a Kannada-English film helmed by Mohandas and produced by Venkat K Narayana along with Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations.
The film stars Yash in a dual role as Raaya and Ticket, with Kiara playing Nadia. The supporting cast includes Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth.
Announced in December 2023, the shoot for the film started in August 2024 and was wrapped up by October 2025.
It was first slated for an April 10, 2025 release, but later shifted to 2026.
A revised date of March 19, 2026 was also postponed amid the West Asian conflict, helping it avoid a clash with ‘Dhurandhar 2’. The film is no longer scheduled to release on June 4, 2026 either.
The film’s promotional material had drawn criticism for its sensual visuals.
Speaking to American content creator and host Sabeen Faheem about Geetu Mohandas at ComicCon, Yash said, “Thoughts are very clear, and she has a strong conviction in whatever she does. And she’s a fabulous writer. I could learn so much, you know. The desire quotient or certain emotions, romance or sensuality, how a female can show, a woman can present is entirely different is what I’ve realised in this journey.”
‘Toxic’ will be released in Hindi and other south Indian languages.
