Bhubaneswar: Former Slovakia Prime Minister Eduard Heger advised KIIT students to be committed to education, morality and society.
Delivering the KIIT Knowledge Tree Lecture here, Hague said education is very important in present times.
“Education can bring peace; education can transform a country; and education brings prosperity to a life. Students should not only think about how to establish themselves by getting an education but also invest their knowledge and skills in maintaining peace, harmony, and brotherhood in their environment, society, state, and country. Peace in life cannot be achieved through fame and money alone. True peace is found in giving back to society,” Heger stated.
Lauding Dr Achyuta Samanta, Heger said the KIIT and KISS founder is a prime example of commitment and giving back to society.
“A person of good character can be a good leader. Leaders with ethics and values can be role models for others,” remarked the former Slovakia PM, who visited KIIT and KISS and spent a long time interacting with KISS students.
In his speech, Heger advised the students to be always “humble and kind to others.”
Samanta delivered the welcome speech, while KIIT Vice-Chancellor Professor Sharanjit Singh proposed the vote of thanks.
