Bhubaneswar: With the new traffic restriction coming into effect from Sunday, the Commissionerate police has put in place speed limits in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack
The speed limits are as follows:
Light and heavy vehicles — 50 kmph (70 kmph on NH between Palasuni and Balikuda)
Two-wheelers — 50 kmph
“Drivers can be prosecuted over these limits,” said a tweet from the commissionerate this evening.
Overspeeding could lead to a fine of Rs 5000 as per the new Motor Vehicle Act 2019.
Speed limits in Commissionerate jurisdiction:
Light & Heavy Vehicles- 50 KMPH, except on NH from Palasuni to Balikuda, where the speed limit is 70 KMPH.
For 2- wheelers – 50 KMPH.
Drivers can be prosecuted above these limits.
