Sambalpur: The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of Government Women’s College in Odisha’s Sambalpur district has submitted its report on allegations of inappropriate and obscene remarks by a lecturer.
“The ICC has completed its probe and the report has been sent to the Higher Education department,” Principal of the college Dr Kalapana Meher informed on Tuesday.
Meher also expressed regret over the incident. “I am deeply saddened by the impact this incident has had on the environment of our college. We are committed to taking every possible step to restore the confidence of our students,” she added.
On April 10, some students of the college had reached out to the media, narrating their ordeal while alleging delays and inaction as the accused lecturer continued to take classes. The matter was formally reported to the ICC in the last week of March. They further alleged that those who filed complaints were being threatened, which had led to a sense of insecurity on the campus.
