In Our Special Series, Writer-Director Tells OB He’s Been Trying To Create Awareness On Coronavirus Through Video Films
Thanks to the nationwide lockdown, in place for over a month to curb the spread of novel coronavirus, some of Biswanath Rath’s major projects are on hold. However, staying at home is proving to be a blessing in disguise for the writer-director.
“First and foremost, I am able to spend quality time with our son Adwik, who is two-and-a-half years old,” says the 35-year-old Odia film personality.
“He loves toys of all types of utility vehicles likes cars, trucks, and has a large collection. Time flies when I play with him or keep him engaged with story books,” says Biswanath, founder of the production company BnR Films LLP.
With his wife Archana working from home, Biswanath spends some time in the kitchen. “I try to cook some of the simple dishes that I know, omelette being one of them,” says Biswanath, whose is films have won awards and recognition in 195 international film festivals.
On the professional front, he is utilizing the time to read, do research on new topics, conceptualize and develop story ideas.
His production company BnR Films is also doing its bit for the cause of fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. “We are using our talent, skills and resources to make films with social messages so that our people understand the ways and means of ending this pandemic,” informs Biswanath.
As part of this initiative, they have released some videos to create more awareness on the coronavirus. “Soon we’ll be launching an awareness campaign titled ‘Corona Speaking’ with actor Ashish Kumar,” reveals Biswanath.
He and Ashish are creating and shooting the video change working out of their respective homes and coordinating over phone/mail.
“As responsible citizens, we ourselves have to religiously follow the lockdown rules as well as the guidelines of social distancing and good hygiene practices,” Biswanath signs off.
