Lord Jagannath Chariot Of Odisha’s Keonjhar Enters Guinness Book of World Records

Keonjhar: Keonjhar district administration has entered its name in Guinness Book of World Records for construction of largest chariot for Rath Yatra in 2019.

Announcing this at a function, here on Friday, sub-collector and executive officer, Debottar of the district said the Jagannath chariot of Keonjhar has also been adjudged as the tallest chariot with 72 feet height by India Book of Records, Asia Pacific Records, Global Records and Wonder Book of Records.

District collector Ashish Thakare felcitated Bhuyan Pidha Sardar for contribution towards development of Sri Sri Baldevjew Mandir and smooth conduct of the Rath Yatra.

He also announced the district administration’s plans for development of Sri Sri Baldevjew Bada Danda. As part of the plan, a ‘Grand Corridor’ will be developed to improve aesthetic environment, organised spaces, safety & hygiene, and contextual rejuvenation.

The development works include decorative floral paint of Grand Corridor, construction of pedestrian pathways and covered drains, organised vending arrangements and peripheral development of Mausima Temple, water body and open areas.

Thakare also informed that the ongoing construction inside the temple including Bhoga Mandap and Bhajan Mandap will be completed soon.

Keonjhar SP, DFO and other government officials were present at the function.
