Bhubaneswar: A speeding luxury car reportedly crashed into a house near Unit 4 Hospital Square in Shastri Nager area of Bhubaneswar in the early hours of Tuesday. No one was reported to have been injured in the incident.
As per sources, the mishap took place when the high-end BMW car moving at a high speed broke through a barricade on the road, and dashed against the house. The mishap took place as the driver of the vehicle apparently lost control over the wheels.
Locals said the car crashed through the house’s fence and a wall, causing substantial damage to the structures. The family members staying in the house had a narrow escape as none got hurt in the mishap.
It is suspected that the vehicle was travelling at high speed from the Red Cross Bhawan area towards Shastri Nagar. After crossing the traffic signal, the car broke through the barricades placed on the side of the road, and crashed into the house.
The residents of the house alleged that there were two persons inside the car at the time of the crash and they appeared to be drunk.
Following the incident, the police have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident and verify the claims made by the affected family.
