Cuttack: A major fire broke out at the conference hall of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) in Cuttack on Saturday, causing extensive damage to furniture and other materials.
The fire, which reportedly erupted in the afternoon, gutted several equipment and furnishings.

After noticing smoke emanating from the conference hall, OCA staff immediately informed the fire service department. A team from the Buxi Bazar fire station promptly responded and took immediate action to control the blaze.
Sources said the fire was successfully contained and extinguished.
As per preliminary investigation, the fire was suspected to have been triggered by an electrical short circuit. However, the exact cause would be ascertained after a complete probe.
