Khordha: In a ghastly incident, a man was allegedly hacked to death by unidentified assailants at Kundupur Chhak of Jatani in Odisha’s Khordha district.
The victim was found in a blood-soaked condition by the roadside late on Friday night and rushed to AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where doctors declared him dead.
The deceased has been identified as Markanda Baliarsingh alias Jaga of Khudupur village.
The victim’s younger brother said a PCR van had already reached the spot, but as there was no space in the vehicle, the family called an ambulance and shifted Markanda to AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
Police have detained one suspect for questioning and launched a detailed investigation. Police suspect previous enmity may have led to the murder, though the exact motive is yet to be established.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and investigators are examining all possible angles, including the victim’s recent movements and past disputes.
