Meeting With Amit Shah: Discussed Farm Laws, Says Amarinder
New Delhi: According to a TV channel, Captain Amarinder Singh left Amit Shah’s residence through a back door after the meeting with Union Home minister which lasted nearly an hour on Wednesday evening.
The former Punjab chief minister obviously wanted to dodge the large posse of mediapersons waiting to hear what transpired and the obvious question whether he would be joining the BJP.
Amarinder did, however, put out a tweet later in the evening saying that the two leaders discussed the three controversial farm laws and other issues related to farmers.
“Met Union Home Minister @AmitShah ji in Delhi. Discussed the prolonged farmers’ agitation against #FarmLaws & urged him to resolve the crisis urgently with repeal of the laws & guarantee MSP, besides supporting Punjab in crop diversification. #NoFarmersNoFood,” the former chief minister said on Twitter.
Very few in political circles will believe that Captain Singh divulged full details of his meeting with Shah. No BJP leader was willing to talk about the matter either.
Speculation on Amarinder – who felt humiliated and let down by Congress — joining BJP or floating a separate party with support from the ruling party at the Centre will continue for the time being. Till the time he himself makes his future stand clear.
