Mercury Plummets To 15°C & Below At 23 Places In Odisha; Bhubaneswar Records 15.7°C

Bhubaneswar: Amid an increase in the intensity of winter chill, Koraput and Similiguda recorded the lowest night temperature in Odisha at 9.5 degree Celsius followed by Kirei in Sundargarh at 10 degree Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Tuesday.

As many as 18 places in the state recorded minimum temperature below 15 degree Celsius:

  1. Jharsuguda: 11.2
  2. Daringbadi in Kandhamal: 11.5
  3. G Udayagiri in Kandhamal: 11.8
  4. Sundargarh: 12
  5. Phulbani: 12
  6. Ranital in Bhadrak: 12.5
  7. Keonjhar: 12.6
  8. Bhawanipatna: 12.9
  9. Hirakud in Sambalpur: 13.4
  10. Bargarh: 13.8
  11. Angul: 14
  12. Balasore: 14.2
  13. Sonepur: 14.4
  14. Boudh: 14.5
  15. Bhadrak: 14.5
  16. Baripada: 14.6
  17. Sambalpur: 14.8
  18. Mahisapat in Dhenkanal: 14.8

Titlagarh, Balangir recorded 15 degree Celsius.

The mercury plummeted below 16 degree Celsius in Bhubaneswar and stood at 15.7 degree Celsius. Cuttack city recorded 16 degree Celsius.

Meanwhile, dense fog was seen at Cuttack and Phulbani and shallow to moderate fog in Sonepur, Angul, Paralakhemundi and Bhawanipatna.
