Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan made his Met Gala debut at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, United States on Tuesday morning.
The actor was seen dressed in a black suit, styled with multiple layers of necklaces. He also carried a cane, which had a tiger head on top.
The highlight of the event was the way in which Shah Rukh introduced himself to the foreign media.
A video from the event, which has now gone viral, shows the actor introducing himself as Shah Rukh Khan on the red carpet.
“I am Shah Rukh,” the actor said when the foreign paparazzi asked him about his look for the night.
The actor further told Vogue that he asked his designer, Sabyasachi Mukherji to make his outfit either black or white and that he was feeling comfortable in the luxe fit, designed by him.
He also said that he was nervous, but was doing it to make his kids happy.

So the reporter didn’t know who he was… and he replied simply: “I’m Shah Rukh”.
And then made no bones about the fact that he had never heard of the Met Gala until a few months ago.

Meanwhile, ace designer Sabyasachi, while talking about the actor’s popularity across the globe, told the hosts that when Shah Rukh stepped out of his hotel to leave for Met Gala, he almost caused a stampede.
This year’s Met Gala theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” revolves around the evolution of Black fashion and its cultural impact, spanning from the 18th century to the modern-day.
On the other hand, popular Punjabi actor and singer, Diljit Dosanjh drew inspiration from the first captain of the Indian cricket team, who owned 44 Rolls Royces and had a Lagaan connect, for his Met Gala look.
In a white traditional attire, paired with a turban, kurta, tehmat, and jewellery, Diljit looked every bit like Bhupinder Singh, the Maharaja of Patiala.
Born in 1891, Bhupinder Singh, son of Maharaja Rajinder Singh of Patiala, is known for his contributions to cricket and the Allied World War I efforts.
The other celebrities, who graced the 2025 Met Gala, included Priyanka Chopra, Kiara Advani, and designers Sabyasachi, Manish Malhotra, and Prabal Gurung.
