CM announces free medical treatment for minor girl gang-raped in Koraput

Koraput: A minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by four security personnel in a forest near Sorispadar village under Pottangi police limits of Koraput district on Tuesday.

According to available information, the four security men kidnapped a Class-IX student while she was returning home after school, took her to the forest and raped her. She was later rescued by an acquaintance and admitted to a local hospital.

The villagers and the victim’s family members have demanded a high-level probe into the matter.

Police have started investigation.

Expressing deep shock at the incident, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced free medical treatment of the victim and if necessary, she will be sent to outside the state at government expenses.The DGP has been instructed to arrest the culprits and initiate stern action against them.
