New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that he spoke to Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Friday and discussed several issues, including collaboration in the fields of technology and innovation. Modi posted on ‘X’ that the discussions also covered topics the two had discussed during his visit to the US earlier this year.
“Spoke to Elon Musk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year. We discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation. India remains committed to advancing our partnerships with the US in these domains,” Modi posted on his ‘X’ handle.
In February this year, Modi and Musk had a meeting after the latter called on the PM at Blair House, the US President’s guest house. Modi was staying there on his two-day visit to the US. Musk was accompanied by his three children when he reached Blair House to meet Modi.
After that meeting with the SpaceX CEO, Modi had posted that the two discussed various issues such as space, mobility, technology and innovation.
The Ministry of External Affairs, in a statement, had said that Modi and Musk discussed the strengthening of collaboration between Indian and US entities in innovation, space exploration, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development.
“Their discussion also touched on opportunities to deepen cooperation in emerging technologies, entrepreneurship and good governance,” the statement added.
The Washington meeting was the third between Modi and Musk. They had met earlier in California in 2015 and New York in 2023.
