Musical night draws curtain on UCCI Expo
Bhubaneswar: Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (UCCI) four-day mega exhibition, UCCI Expo-2017, at Idco Exhibition Ground here ended on Tuesday. Union Minister, Ministry of MSME, Kalraj Mishra was the chief guest. He said MSME has become a challenge as well as opportunity for Odisha. “We will be working towards eradicating unemployment and creating Odisha as a manufacturing hub. It can only be possible by promoting small scale industries. Start-up is the new buzzword for Odisha with focus on promoting of new ideas,” he said. Union Minister, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram was the special guest of the evening. The Union Minister expressed his happiness on being part of this programme for past three years. “We need to focus on ancillary fields and Odisha should come up with some policy, where we can promote and set up MSME industries and factories in tribal areas,” he said. Principal Secretary, MSME Department, L N Gupta said UCCI Expo has become the best way to showcase our micro small and medium enterprises and create employment. Sannyas Behera, OAS, (differently-abled) was felicitated during the valedictory ceremony. The chamber awarded Oriclean (P) Ltd, Jindal Stainless Ltd and Orissa Stevedores Ltd as best performers in medium-scale industry, mega-scale industry and large-scale industry categories respectively. Odia singer Susmita Das was also felicitated on the occasion. Besides seminars, the four-day expo saw cultural programmes. Bollywood singer Krishna Beura was the star attraction on the opening day. The remaining days saw Odissi and Gotipua performances, musical night with Bollywood artists and bands.
