Buguda: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has praised Manitara Sarpanch Shantilata Nayak for taking a bold step to clamp shut-down in the panchayat.
Nayak is the first sarpanch in the State to have taken the decision on May 9 after the State Government relegated Collector’s power to all sarpanches to deal with CORONA-19.
The sarpanch of Manitara panchayat in Buguda block of Ganjam district took the decision following sudden rise in the number of corona positive cases reportedly after arrival of migrant Odias from outside the State.
