New Delhi: As the screenshot of a purported National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) ‘question paper’ was shared on social media and shared many times over, tense candidates must have said, ‘Oh no, not again.’
After all, the NEET-UG 2026 exam, held on May 3, was cancelled nine days later because of paper leak.
How can there be another leak before the June 21 re-exam, despite unprecedented security measures put in place by the Central government?
Before it spread further, the Fact Check unit of Press Information Bureau (PIB) dismissed the viral social media claim alleging that the NEET question paper had been leaked again, and advised candidates not to trust or circulate unverified examination-related content.
One user named Bibin shared on X a screenshot purportedly received from a Telegram group and questioned whether the NEET paper had been leaked once again.
The screenshot that was attached to the post showed what looked to be a question paper booklet with the word ‘KAVERI’ printed on top. ‘Proofs / Price’ was displayed along with a timestamp of 2:29 pm from the previous day. The booklet carried the code ‘23’ and was marked ‘English.’
PIB’s fact-checking unit said that a question paper was being circulated on social media with claims that the NEET paper had been leaked again, which was fake.
Candidates were advised not to trust, share, or rely on any unverified examination-related content.
