Kendrapada: A newborn girl was found abandoned near a temple at Chandipur village under Nikirei police limits in Kendrapada district on Thursday.
A woman spotted the baby while plucking flowers on the temple premises following which she was taken to a nearby hospital and later shifted to the district headquarters hospital.
After administering oxygen and saline to the infant, doctors at the hospital referred her to Sishu Bhawan in Cuttack for better treatment.
Meanwhile, CWC members have reached the spot and started inquiry into the matter.
