Bhubaneswar: The night temperature in Odisha may fall by 2-3 degree Celsius after two more days of rainfall activity, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Thursday.
“There will be no large change in the minimum temperature during the next 48 hours. Thereafter, the mercury may fall by 2-3 degree Celsius during the subsequent 3 days across the state,” the midday bulletin said.
The night temperature may drop below 15 degree Celsius in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack by December 30 and touch 13 degree Celsius by New Year’s eve. The cities recoded 18.4 degree Celsius and 16.6 degree Celsius respectively in the last 24 hours with Koraput being the coldest at 12 .4 degree Celsius.
A day after heavy downpour in several districts, the state may see a gradual decrease in rainfall intensity over two days with the system over Southwest & adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal weakening into a low-pressure area, the weather agency further stated.
Light to moderate rain may continue at a few places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal , Kendrapada, Boudh, Angul and Dhenkanal districts on Thursday.
Shallow to moderate fog may also occur at one or two places in Keonjhar.
On Friday, light rain is likely at one or two places in Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur districts.
Dry weather may prevail thereafter.
