No Rain Respite In Odisha For Next Two Days
Bhubaneswar: Rainfall will continue in Odisha till the next 48 hours under the influence of a cyclonic circulation, the Met office here said on Saturday morning.
The duty officer of Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, Ramesh Gartia, informed that there will be thunderstorms with lightning accompanied and surface wind with speed reaching 30-40 kmph at one or two places in Nayagarh, Puri, Ganjam, Rayagada, Kandhamal and Gajapati districts on Saturday.
There will be light to moderate rain or thundershowers at a few places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal districts and at one or two places in Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri and Jagatsinghpur on Sunday.
“We have received latest IMD bulletin that there will be strong wind of 30-40 kmph at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur and Boudh by 1 pm today,” he added.
The duty officer also said that the IMD has also issued dense fog warning for one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Balangir districts on Sunday, in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Khurda and Kandhamal districts on Monday and Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Raygada, Angul, Balangir and Koraput districts on Tuesday..
Meanwhile, rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours was highest in Balangir with 33 mm followed by Sonepur (28.2), Sambalpur (24), Hirakud (21.2), Keonjhar (16.3), Sundargarh (10), Paradip (9.3), Jharsuguda (9.3), Boudh (8.2), Talcher (8), Puri (7), Angul (6) and Chandbali (4.8).
Though Bhubaneswar recorded 0.9 mm rainfall,, squally weather prevailed in the city throughout the day.
