Bhubaneswar: With only two days left for the counting of votes in Odisha, the Congress has given up hope of forming the government in the state.
Briefing mediapersons here on Tuesday, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik admitted that his party has not been able to secure enough votes to form the government in the state on its own.
However, he said the performance of the Congress in this election will be better than in 2014.
The OPCC president said that the exit poll survey cannot be trusted. “The exit polls have made a wrong assessment about me saying that I will lose both Ghasipura and Bhandaripokhari Assembly seats. I may lose the Ghasipura seat, but I will certainly win from Bhandaripokhari. Everything will be become clear on May 23,” he added.
