Odia Filmmaker’s ‘Teen Adhyay’ To Be Screened At 52nd IFFI In Goa

Bhubaneswar: ‘Teen Adhyay’, a film directed by Mumbai-based Odia filmmaker Subash Sahoo has been picked in the Indian Panorama section for screening during the 52nd edition of the International Film Festival of India in Goa from November 20- 28.

A Hindi film, ‘Teen Adhyay’, has found a place in a list of 20 non-feature films to be shown during the festival being organised by the Directorate of Film Festivals of India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, in collaboration with the state government of Goa.

Conceptualized and shot in Mumbai during the nationwide lockdown in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, the film sought to deal with three aspects of life—‘Vipatti’ (calamity), ‘Utpati’ (genesis) and ‘Chakra’ (continuity) because together they symbolised the ancient Indian philosophy of existence and its deeper meaning, Sahoo said.

The film, produced by his wife Suprava Sahoo, was selected from a diverse pool of 203 contemporary Indian non-feature films.

“I was inspired to make the film when I found a crow trying to make a nest outside the window of my home even as the world outside screeched to a halt,” he said, adding the film also attempted to deal with the connection between individuals across species.
