Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has initiated the process to evacuate Odia students from Central Sanskrit University in Jammu due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
The university has directed students to leave the campus after a Pakistani drone strike on Thursday night.
The government has tasked the Resident Commissioner in New Delhi and the Directorate of Odisha Parivaar with ensuring the safe return of all 114 Odia students. A dedicated team of four senior officials and 16 staff members has been formed to manage the evacuation.
Speaking to the media, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi said that all arrangements are in place to transport the students to Delhi and their return to the state. “A 24-hour control room has been set up at the Odisha Resident Commission in New Delhi to assist them,” he added.
Students and parents are encouraged to reach out to these control rooms for assistance.
