Shaifalika Panda, CEO, BIPF said, “The Prof Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship provides an opportunity for students from marginalised backgrounds to strive towards their aspirations and change the fortune of their future generations through sustainable contribution to economic and educational wellbeing of their family”.

The scholarship was instituted in 2005 by IMFA in memory of renowned historian late Prof Ghanashyam Dash, the father of Late Ila Panda, a scholar and historian of international repute. After graduating from London University, Prof Dash was associated with several educational institutions in Odisha including Ravenshaw College, G.M College and FM
College as Principal.

The Bansidhar and Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF) implements sustainable and scalable interventions in Arogyadhara (health), Adhyayan (education), Sakshyam (livelihood), Su-Swasthya (water and sanitation) and Samwaad Sammaan (advocacy and appreciation).

Currently, the Foundation’s geographic focus spans across Cuttack, Rayagada, Keonjhar, Jajpur and Angul districts. It serves 297 remote villages in 41 panchayats and 11 wards of Choudwar Municipality reaching out to more than 2,85,000 beneficiaries.
