Bhubaneswar: The Mohan Majhi government will present a supplementary budget of around Rs 10,000 crore for 2025-26 during the winter session of Assembly, starting November 27.
This was among the four proposal approved in the meeting of the Council of Ministers followed by Odisha Cabinet on Monday.
While the main budget for 2025-26 has an outlay of Rs 2.90 lakh crore, the supplementary budget will primarily fund ongoing flagship schemes in health, education, social security and urban infrastructure, sources said.
The Cabinet chaired by the CM also approved amendments to the rules governing the Combined Graduate Level Recruitment Examination for Group B and Group C posts, enabling the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to hold two recruitment cycles per year instead of the previous single cycle.
This is aimed at accelerating the hiring process.
Similarly, four new posts will be included in Schedule-1 as per provision prescribed under Rule-3 of the said rules taking the total posts to 24. Earlier, 20 different posts were included in the Schedule-I for combined recruitment examination.
The Cabinet also approved amendment of Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level or Equivalent Recruitment Examination for Specialist Posts or Services Rules, 2022, adding one more post to the existing 11 in the Schedule-I.
