Bhubaneswar: In a major boost to Odisha’s industrialisation drive, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 14 transformative industrial projects with a cumulative investment of Rs 5,770 crore, promising to generate over 37,030 employment opportunities.

The event was held within just 60 days of completion of the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, highlighting Odisha’s commitment towards converting investment intents into actionable projects and also the government’s unwavering focus on ease and speed of doing business.

The landmark event unfolded through a three-location visit—New Industrial Estate Haldiapada, Industrial Estate Mundamba, and Khordha Textile Park Kalibeti.

The Chief Minister began the day where 11 projects were launched in the presence of industry leaders and state dignitaries. The projects span a wide spectrum of sectors including Food Processing, Textile, Apparel & Technical Textile, Mechanical and Electrical Capital Goods, Packaging, and Refractory. Leading global and Indian firms such as Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Private Limited, Polimiroir India Private Limited, Shalimar Glass Works Private Limited, IFGL Refractories Limited, etc., were among the key participants.

Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi said, “These projects are more than industrial units—they are growth engines for our state, employment generators for our youth, and milestones on our journey to a Samrudh Odisha. We are building an Odisha that is productive, inclusive, sustainable, and globally competitive.”

The event was also addressed by Minister for Industries, Skill Development & Technical Education, Sampad Chandra Swain, who emphasised the state’s focus on industrial infrastructure development, skill enhancement, and regional industrial diversification.

After the grand groundbreaking at Haldiapada Industrial Park, the CM proceeded to Khurda One Industrial Estate. There, he performed the groundbreaking for Nestlé India’s Mega Food Factory, followed by the inauguration of Varun Beverages Ltd.’s state-of-the-art production facility.

The grand culmination took place at New Textile Park, Kalibeti, with a site visit to the under-construction facility of Trimetro Garments India Pvt. Ltd. (EPIC Group) at the Khordha Textile Park, where the foundation stone was laid for workers’ hostel facilities to support apparel cluster development.

Key highlights:

– Inauguration of operational units such as Varun Beverages at Khurdha.

– Groundbreaking of marquee projects including Nestlé India’s manufacturing unit, and Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Private Limited’s unit.

– Launch of new industrial hubs including Haldiapada Industrial Estate and Khordha One, showcasing the government’s infrastructure push.

– The event also spotlighted Odisha’s emergence as a strategic trade and investment hub in eastern India, with world-class infrastructure, deep-draft ports, and policy-driven facilitation mechanisms that make it a preferred destination for global supply chains.

– With large number of investment intents received during the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, and rapid grounding of projects across sectors, today’s ceremony reflects the Odisha Government’s ability to translate vision into action.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring speed, stability, and support for all investors, while ensuring that the benefits of industrialization reach every corner of the state.
