Berhampur:Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is expected to hold a public grievance redressal session in Berhampur this month.
While the date and venue are yet to be confirmed, a preparatory meeting was held on Saturday in Chhatrapur. It was presided over by Nihar Ranjan Das, special secretary of the general administration and public grievance department. Ganjam collector Dibya Jyoti Parida and other district officials attended the meeting.
This came almost a week after the CM announced that a regional public grievance hearing will soon be held at Berhampur while addressing the centenary celebration of Unnita High School at Bhimpur village in Patrapur block.
Sources said that the date will be finalised after identifying a suitable location for the proposed session, which is expected to be attended by residents of eight southern Odisha districts – Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada and Kalahandi.
The authorities are also planning massive promotion of the session to ensure a good turnout of people to resolve their issues. Several ministers and secretaries are also likely to attend the public grievance session in Berhampur.
Majhi had held the first session outside the state capital in Sambalpur on April 21. He was accompanied by nine ministers and 12 Secretary Rank officers, who adopted a single-window system for grievance redressal, facilitating immediate assistance, particularly for those battling critical or incurable diseases.
