Bhubaneswar: In a significant achievement, Odisha Lok Bhavan has received the Platinum Green Campus recognition from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), scoring an impressive 88 out of 100 points.
The certification has been presented in recognition of the steps taken at Lok Bhavan towards adopting environmentally sustainable practices. The assessment covers key areas of environmental management, including use of renewable energy, water conservation, protection of biodiversity, waste management and clean mobility.
Officials said the recognition comes as Lok Bhavan continues to focus on measures aimed at making the premises more environment-friendly, covering both resource conservation and adoption of cleaner practices within the public institution.
Sharing the achievement on X, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati said, “When governance goes green, the future grows stronger. Lok Bhavan, Odisha has achieved the IGBC Green Campus Rating – Platinum, with an exceptional 88/100, reflecting our commitment to responsible governance, efficient use of resources and a greener tomorrow.”
