Odisha CM Sanctions Rs 3 Crore & Land In Puri Town For Kulta Community

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday sanctioned an acre of land for construction of a dharmasala at Sunamuhna Mouza in Odisha’s Puri town for the people of Kulta community.

Besides, Rs 3 crore will also be released from the Special Problem Fund for the purpose.

Every year, lakhs of people from Kulta Samaj visit Puri for the darshan of Lord Jagannath and his siblings.

Notably, a delegation of the community, comprising members from Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur and Brajrajnagar, met the CM at his residence here on November 28 and requested him to allot land in Puri for a dharmasala, which would serve as an accommodation for the devotees and other religious activities.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Kulta Samaj has been playing a lead role in establishment, management and propagation of Jagannath culture in villages by building temples. Ramchandi Temple near Puri is a famous shrine of Kulta Samaj.
