Jajpur/Bhadrak: As many as 383 schools in Jajpur and Bhadrak districts of Odisha remained closed on Saturday in view of the situation caused by floods.
In Jajpur district, the District Collector ordered the closure of 244 schools across eight blocks affected by flooding. The blocks where schools have been declared closed are Bari, Dasarathpur, Binjharpur, Rasulpur, Korei, Dharmasala, Jajpur, and Badachana.
An official communication has been issued by the District Education Officer (DEO) in this regard.
Similarly, 139 schools have been declared closed for the day in for flood-affected blocks of Bhadrak districts. Schools are closed in Bhadrak, Tihidi, Dhamnagar, and Chandbali blocks. In addition.
This apart, as many as 225 Anganwadi centres remained shut in five blocks, including Basudevpur.
The decision to keep these schools closed was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students amid the flood situation in the region.
