Odisha Govt Revises Date Of Physical Attendance Of Class I-VII Students; Know The Causes Here

Bhubaneswar: The state government on Thursday revised its order on physical classes for students of Class I to VII.

In an official letter, principal secretary, School and Mass Education Bishnupada Sethi said as per the government’s earlier notification, the schools having Classes I to VII will reopen on February 14.

But the students of these classes need not go to the schools from February 14 as their physical classes will start from February 28. However, the teachers should come to school to ensure sanitisation of the school campus.

The department stated that the decision has been taken as teaching and non-teaching staff of the schools would be engaged in the panchayat elections.

The schools will also be used as polling stations which will be visited by police and voters. This may pose health problems for the schoolstudents.

Besides, the letter said district collectors have sought more time to carry out cleaning and santising work of the school campuses which had remained unused for almost two years on account of COVID induced lockdown.
