Bhubaneswar: With the inquiry into the stampede at Saradhabali near Gundicha temple gathering momentum, the Odisha government on Thursday sought information from the public with regards to the incident that claimed three lives and left over 50 injured on June 29.
In a public notice, the Planning and Convergence Department urged individuals to submit any relevant details, including video footage, that could aid in conducting a transparent and thorough inquiry into the tragic incident that unfolded early Sunday morning. “The members of the public are urged to share information, video footage or any other material through the e-mail puritragedy.enquiry@odisha.gov.in by July 20,” it said
The notice further stated that that people can also meet and share information with Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, who is heading the administrative inquiry into the incident, at the State Guest House in Bhubaneswar after 3 pm on July 9 and at the Special Circuit House in Puri on July 10 after 3 pm.
The state government has also provided two landline telephone numbers (0674-2536882/2391970) to allow people to pass on information to the team, conducting the probe.

This came a day after four OAS officers were deputed to assist Garg, who on Monday visited the spot and held discussions with the chief administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA ), Puri collector and SP, besides other officials and temple servitors.
She has been asked to submit a report to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi within 30 days.
Garg had earlier told the media that she would also examine all CCTV footage, go through the deployment orders and check whether the SOPs were being followed.
