Odisha Govt Targets To Provide 9 Lakh Pucca Houses Under PMAY By June Next Year
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has targeted to provide 9 lakh pucca houses to beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) by June next year.
Presiding a high-level meeting with district collectors through video-conference on Tuesday, chief secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra directed them to issue the work orders to the beneficiaries by January, 2023. The list of the beneficiaries should be put on display in panchayat offices for at least 10 days before issuing the work orders to seek objections from the local people.
In case of any fake or undeserving beneficiary, the people can drop their complaints in the boxes installed for the purpose in the block offices, call on toll-free number 1800-3456-768 or file it online. The BDOs have been entrusted to take the photographs of the houses and submit those for geotagging, Mahapatra said.
He further told the collectors to ensure optimum transparency in the whole process to prevent duplication of beneficiaries and allotment of houses to bogus beneficiaries. The scheme aims at ensuring safe houses to the deprived section of the society against natural calamities, he added.
