Odisha Govt To Constitute Law Revision Commission Soon: Minister
Bhubaneswar: – The Odisha government will soon constitute a Law Revision Commission to identify the old acts and rules which have become obsolete and suggest ways to bring reforms.
Giving this information on Wednesday, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan said that irrelevant and obsolete laws need to be changed and it could only be done by constituting a Law Revision Commission.
The commission would examine the existing laws and suggest ways to improve and modify in order to make them useful for the common people.
Stating that the Commission would be constituted within 45 days, he said the laws governing the functioning of the government need to be renewed.
“Therefore, the state government is set to constitute a new Law Revision Commission soon. We will also deliberate and try to bring the required amendments in the Right to Information Act enacted in 2005,” the Minister said.
The government will also take necessary decisions on the cases registered to intimidate RTI activists, he said.
