Odisha Govt To Form Single Board For Matric, Plus II
Bhubaneswar: In support of the proposal in the draft national education policy of the Centre, the Odisha government has decided to merge the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) and the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) and form a single board.
Talking to the media at the concluding session of a two-day workshop on the national education policy here on Wednesday, principal secretary, School and Mass Education, Pradipta Mahapatra said the single board will conduct all examinations from Class IX to Class XII, including annual Matric and Plus II examinations. The state government will submit a proposal to this effect to the Centre, he further said.
On Centre’s proposal to conduct semester examinations at secondary level, Mahapatra said it would hamper other education activities. Instead, a proposal will be given to conduct annual examinations at the secondary level, he added.
