Odisha Govt To Provide Job Loan To Migrant Workers Who Have Returned Home
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will provide job loan to migrant workers who have returned to their native place during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Informing the media on Wednesday, Labour Minister Susanta Singh said that as per data provided by the Home Department, about 43,000 migrant Odias have returned to their native place during the second wave.
As most of the migrant labourers have job cards, efforts will be made to give them jobs to sustain their livelihood for which arrangements will be made to provide them job loan.
Apart from this, the state government will also provide loan to women migrant workers to engage them in Self-Help Groups (SHGs), the minister added.
He also said that the government has decided to provide monthly financial assistance of Rs 1500 each to 30 lakh construction workers for the lockdown period.
