Odisha Govt To Set Up Two New Medical Colleges In Three Years
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will set up two government medical colleges and teaching hospitals in Puri and Jajpur districts on a turnkey basis.
A proposal by the Works Department was approved by the State Cabinet on Monday in a meeting via video conferencing, presided by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
As decided, Larsen and Toubro Ltd will take up the construction of a 600-bed government medical college and teaching hospital in Puri at an estimated cost of Rs 224.55 crore and a 100-seated and 500-bedded medical college and teaching hospital in Jajpur at an estimated cost of Rs 426.51 crore.
The construction of these two medical colleges will be completed within three years.
