Bhubaneswar: Prasanna Kumar Acharya, who hails from Odisha, assumed office as the new Chairman-cum-Managing Director of NLC India Ltd. (NLCIL). Prior to his new role, Acharya was the Director (Finance) of NLCIL.
Acharya took charge at the corporate office of NLC India Limited at Neyveli in Tamil Nadu on Thursday, sources said.
With around three decades of professional experience, Acharya has served in responsible positions in various reputed organisations in the power, mining and infrastructure sectors.
Having held key positions in organisations including GRIDCO, NTPC and Tata Power, he had made significant contributions to major infrastructure initiatives, including the Phase – II project of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL).
Acharya, who hails from Kendrapada district of Odisha, holds a Graduate and PhD degree in Commerce from Utkal University, along with a degree in Law, Post-Graduation in Commerce and Post-Graduation in Business Administration. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India and an Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
During his tenure at NLC India Limited, he has led several important initiatives including digital transformation, modernization of enterprise resource planning systems, artificial intelligence-based systems and financial reforms.
