Odisha Planning Board To Be Restructured In line With NITI Aayog: CM
Bhubaneswar: The state Planning Board in Odisha is all set to be restructured in line with the NITI Aayog to enhance the strategic planning process.
This information was given by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi while replying a question by BJP MLA Tankadhara Tripathy in the state Assembly.
The Chief Minister said that the government has already been holding discussions with experts regarding the move to revamp the Planning Board.
Taking a dig at the previous BJD government, the CM pointed out that the state Planning Board meeting was convened only twice in 24 years during the previous government.
While a meeting of the Planning Board was convened in 2003, it met for the last time in 2007, Majhi said, underlining the need for a revamped and dynamic board.
Asserting that the BJP government aims at expediting the reconstitution of the board, he said steps will be taken to ensure more frequent meetings to make the body effective. The structure of the Planning Board is set to be in alignment with the NITI Aayog in order to enhance its planning capabilities within the state.
