Odisha Police Issues Advisory Against Part-Time Job Frauds
Bhubaneswar: With cyber criminals targeting the people seeking online part-time jobs, the Odisha Police has issued an advisory cautioning about the scamsters.
In a tweet, titled “Don’t be an easy target for scammers”, the police said scammers send fake messages/e-mails offering part time jobs. In such messages, it is claimed that such messages are sent from reputed companies.
“Once the victim gets confirmed, the scammer asks for money in lieu of training and registration fees etc,” the tweet read.
The Odisha Police also offered the security tips for the people to follow to avoid falling victim to cyber criminals trying to dupe them through fake job offers. Following are the tips the people need to follow:
- Refrain from clicking on unverified links, no matter how tempting they look.
- Be cautious before doing any financial transaction with unknown person.
- It is best to report and block these numbers.
It may be noted that the police have launched several awareness drives regarding various kinds of online fraud.
