Odisha To Recruit 7540 Teachers For Government Secondary Schools
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved recruitment of 7540 teachers for government secondary schools, 5T Secretary VK Pandian informed on Friday.
In an Instagram post, Pandian wrote, “Massive job opportunities for youth of Odisha as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved recruitment of 7,540 teachers for government secondary schools. It will further expand opportunities for youth, transform education and give huge boost to student learning (sic)”.
Notably, 13,000 teachers were recruited last year. “This will hugely benefit the employment scenario and transform the education infrastructure of Odisha,” he added.
As per the direction of the Chief Minister, the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) has been asked to start the process for recruitment of 7,540 teachers in high schools, according to an official release.
The process will be launched for filling the vacant posts of trained graduate teachers in different streams like arts, physics, chemistry, mathematics, botany, zoology, Sanskrit, Hindi, Urdu, Telugu and physical education.
It may be noted that while the state government has undertaken several programmes for transformation under the 5T initiative, emphasis has been laid on the transformation of schools for providing modern education to students. From computers, internet to e-libraries, advanced play equipment, playgrounds, and other facilities are being developed. Recruitment drive has been also expedited under 5T.
Vacancies in various departments are being filled speedily with complete transparency. While thousands of posts in different departments have been filled in the last few years, the recruitment process will continue in future.
