Odisha’s Preeti Priyanka Crowned Miss India Nayantara 2020

Bhubaneswar: Preeti Priyanka from Odisha has won the ‘Miss India Nayantara 2020’ beauty pageant.

Out of 359 participants, the Bhadrak-based Priyanka was crowned the winner in the grand finale of the pageant held in Bhubaneswar on Friday.

While Suchana Swastika emerged as the first runner to win the Miss India Nayantara United Continental title, the second runner up, Priyadarshini Singh, won the ‘Miss India Nayantara Asia Pacific’ title.

All the three contestants were seen in Indo-Western costumes in the finale.

The process of Miss India Nayantara contest was started by SJ Production house, at the time of lockdown.

The participants had to apply online for the contest. They also participated in different rounds virtually. Out of them, 50 participants were selected under the guidance of noted dancer Saswat Joshi.

They attended grooming sessions in the Odisha capital and got training on ramp walk, fashion makeup, costume design, cultural awareness, body language, etc.

Not only girls, but some transgender people also participated in the contest, informed Saswat Joshi.
