Bhubaneswar: Yash Jain of Kantabanji in Odisha’s Balangir district has topped the NEET-Super Specialty exam-2024 in Surgical Group.
Taking to his X handle, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi congratulated Yash for securing the first rank at the all-India level and making Odisha proud. “Yash’s achievement is a shining testament to the boundless potential of Odia students. His success inspires students across the state, instilling courage to dream big. Wishing him a bright future ahead,” he added.
Yash had completed his MBBS from King Edward Memorial Hospital, Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College in Mumbai. He did his post-graduation study from Government Medical College and Hospital in Nagpur.
He cracked the NEET SS exam in the first attempt and wants to pursue gastro-surgery from GB Pant Hospital in Delhi. “I started preparing from June or July last year while serving the patients at the hospital. I took online coaching and would devote eight to 14 hours on a daily basis. Dedicated the last 3 months revising the course. I solved around 150 MCQ every day. I also started giving GTs aggressively. I was confident of a good result but never thought of topping the media,” he told the media.
Yash wants to come back to Kantabanjhi to serve the people here after completing his studies.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), New Delhi, had officially declared the result on April 26. The exam was conducted on March 29 and 30, 2025, for admission to various DM/MCh and DrNB super specialty courses across the country.
