Bhubaneswar: The Health and Family Welfare department on Monday informed about five more corona patients of Bhubaneswar recovering from the disease.
The Odisha capital has so far reported 50 cases. Among them 37 have been fully cured. The virus has so far claimed two lives in the city.
Bhubaneswar had reported three new cases from VVS Nagar, Mancheswar and Surya Nagar on May 7, after a gap of nine days when a man of Madhusudan Nagar had tested positive for the virus on April 28. He later succumbed to the infection. Prior to this, three persons had tested corona positive on April 14.
The first death in Odisha was reported on April 6 from Bhubaneswar and the deceased belonged to Jharpada in the city. He was undergoing treatment at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar and had later tested positive for COVID-19.
The first COVID-19 case in Odisha was also detected in the city on March 15 when a 33-year-old man tested positive for the virus after returning from Milan, Italy. He recovered from the disease on April 3, according to Health Department data.

Despite the high recovery rate, the areas under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation limits are still categorised as Red Zone to prevent any explosion in COVID-19 cases with the return of migrants to the state.
