Bhubaneswar: A total of 60,03,707 voters will exercise their franchise for the first phase Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha on April 11.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, 29,72,925 of the total number of voters in the first phase are male, 30,30,222 female and 560 transgenders and they will cast their votes in 7,233 booths.
Elections to Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Berhampur and Koraput Lok Sabha seats and 28 Assembly segments coming under it will be held in the first phase.
For the four Lok Sabha seats, 26 candidates, two of them women, are in the fray, while of 191 candidates for 28 Assembly seats, 16 are women.
The seven Assembly segments that fall under Kalahandi Lok Sabha seat are Nuapada (General), Khariar (General), Lanjigarh (ST), Junagarh (General), Dharmagarh (General), Bhawanipatna (SC) and Narla (General).
The Nabarangpur Lok Sabha constituency has seven Assembly segments, namely Umerkote (ST), Jharigan (ST), Nabarangpur (ST), Dabugan (ST), Kotpad (ST), Malkangiri (ST) and Chitrakonda (ST).
The Berhampur Lok Sabha seat has seven Assembly segments, namely Chhatrapur (SC), Gopalpur (General), Berhampur (General), Digapahandi (General), Chikiti (General), Mohana (ST) and Paralakhemundi (General). The Koraput Lok Sabha seat has Gunupur (ST), Bisamkatak (ST), Rayagada (ST), Laxmipur (ST), Jeypore (General), Koraput (SC) and Pottangi Assembly segments under it.
