Impressive Show By Visually-Impaired Players In Cricket Match
Bhubaneswar: Spectators were amazed as they witnessed a one-of-its kind one day cricket match for visually impaired players of Bhadrak and Balasore. Organised by Parichay Foundation in association with Patia Grama Mangala Samiti at Kanak Durga Field in Bhubaneswar on the occasion of Utkal Dibasa, the match featured players who had lost their sight since birth.
“The whole idea of organising the match was to encourage the players and salute their fighting spirit. It is a great honour for us to conduct such sporting event for the first time”, said Rosalin Patsani Mishra, Founder Parichay Foundation adding that they are an inspiration to the society.
Parichay had earlier awarded Jafar Iqbal, Captain, Odisha Blind Cricket Team at last Shrie Award ceremony. The foundation has been working for the social upliftment of underprivileged women and girls for more than a decade in Odisha and Delhi.
