Patient’s Death Triggers Tension At Pipili Hospital

Pipili: Tension ran high at Pipili government hospital in Puri district following the death of a patient due to alleged medical negligence.

According to sources, Gajendra Muduli (40), a resident of Nagpur village under Gop police limits in the district, fell sick last night. He was immediately rushed to the hospital by his family members. However, moments later, a pharmacist declared him dead.
Following the incident, Muduli’s family members created ruckus on the hospital premises alleging that absence of doctors and delay in treatment led to his death.
They demanded action against the errant doctors and hospital staff.
As the news spread, Pipili MLA Yudhistir Samantaray reached the spot to take stock of the situation. He managed to pacify the agitators after assuring them that an inquiry will be conducted into the matter and action initiated accordingly.
Later, the MLA also held discussions with Puri Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) for an inquiry into the incident.
