PM Modi Speaks To Sourav Ganguly, Wishes Him Speedy Recovery

Kolkata: Millions of fans, the cricketing fraternity and even politicians of all hue have been showing concern for Sourav Ganguly ever since he was admitted to Woodlands Hospital after suffering a minor cardiac arrest.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Ganguly to inquire about his health and wished him a speedy recovery. Modi also spoke to Ganguly’s wife Dona, the Hindustan Times reported.

The 48-year-old Ganguly underwent coronary angioplasty on Saturday, with doctors detecting three blocked coronary arteries. They thereafter implanted one stent in his right coronary artery through the radial route.

One of India’s finest captains, there has been speculation over Ganguly joining politics. Speculation gained ground after he met West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankar and shared the dais with Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently.

Chief minister Mamata Banerjee, other leaders from Trinamool Congress, Left Front and Congress have been visiting the Woodlands to see and wish Sourav.
