Puri Gang Rape: Cops Frame Charges Against 6 Accused

Puri: Police framed a charge-sheet against six persons on Tuesday for allegedly raping a minor girl here on December 2. The prime accused, Jitendra Sethi, is a dismissed constable.

Puri SP Uma Shankar Das said police framed the charge-sheet in 20 days after the incident. “We have requested for the case to be tried in a fast-track court,” he added.

According to police, Sethi had picked the girl from the bus stand at Nimapara in a car on the pretext of giving her a lift to her native place at Kakatpur. Later, he and three others took the girl to Puri and raped her inside a police quarter near Jhadeswari Club in the evening.

The girl later managed to escape and informed locals.
