New Delhi: Staying one step ahead of the rivals is crucial in any situation of conflict.
Many have questioned why India’s intelligence agencies failed to anticipate the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, when 26 innocent men, mostly tourists, were gunned down at Pahalgam’s Baisaran valley.
Wednesday’s pre-dawn missile strikes on nine terror camp sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir went a long way in avenging those brutal murders. And now, it has emerged that Pakistan could be up to some mischief in India’s Railway sector.
The Indian Railway Ministry has cautioned its employees about the possibility of Pakistan intelligence agencies trying to seek details of the movement of military trains, and reminded them that divulging any such information will be a ‘grave threat’ to national security, PTI reported.
“Pakistan intelligence operatives may call railway officials and seek confidential information regarding military special train movements. Disclosing of such information to any unauthorised person other than Mil Rail staff (Military Wing of Railways) by railway officials will be considered as breach of security and will amount to grave threat to national security,” said a message from the Railway Board to Principal Chief Operation Managers of all railway zones.
Mil Rail is a specialised wing of Indian Railways that provides logistical support to defence forces.
“Therefore, it is desired that the railway officers and staff may be instructed to be sensitised to the critical nature of information regarding the movement of military special trains and the gravity of the issue,” the message continued.
The Railway ministry urged senior officials to instruct all staff about the possibility of some individuals seeking information about military movement.
